About North Rode Scientific Services
Our Story
North Rode Scientific Services (NRSS) was founded in 2018 in the small rural hamlet of North Rode in the county of Cheshire, UK. We started as a small consultancy but with the big vision to focus on partnering with Biotechs where there was a clear need to provide leading bioanalytical, biomarker and biosample service solutions.
We love to connect our clients to the RIGHT CROs. By connecting with the RIGHT CROs we can deliver to our client's, better solutions that meet their specific requirements for Scientific Excellence, Regulatory Quality against Realistic Timelines and at a Competitive Cost.
Our Founder and Principal Consultant
Our founder, Anthony (Tony) Parry, brings over 30 years of unparalleled experience in drug discovery and clinical/non-clinical development.
Tony is a seasoned Bioanalytical Scientist with over 30 years of experience in drug discovery and regulatory clinical/non-clinical development. He has made significant contributions to successful oncology, cardiovascular and CNS, drug projects, including Lynparza, Tagrisso, Iressa, Arimidex, Zoladex, Faslodex, Crestor, Sativex, and Cuprior.
Tony brings extensive expertise in DMPK, bioanalysis, and biosample operations, along with over a decade of project management experience working with global Contract Research Organisations (CROs). He has held key positions at several prominent companies, including:
- NRSS: Managing Director/Principal Consultant
- Colibri Scientific Ltd: Senior Project Manager
- IQVIA Labs (formally Q2 Solutions): Senior Lab Project Services Manager
- AstraZeneca: Various roles including Associate Principal Scientist and DMPK Outsourcing Manager (Oncology)
As the Managing Director and Principal Consultant at NRSS, he provides bioanalytical, biomarker and biosample operations consultancy services, offering strategic and tactical support to the Biotech industry.

Bioanalytical Services
Diligent oversight of bioanalytical activities in pre-clinical and clinical studies can be scientifically / regulatory challenging and time consuming.
Our bioanalytical expertise encompasses traditional small / large molecules and new modalities (eg oligonucleotides) therapeutics utilising a wide range of analytical methodologies.
Our experienced team of Project Managers can support all aspects of bioanalytical oversight.
Lab Vendor Evaluation & Selection
NRSS conduct detailed evaluations of bioanalytical, biomarker, central
laboratories and logistic providers to provide a comprehensive report for selection. We can recommend vendors for specific services based on customer requirements.
Our regulatory, scientific, and business evaluations are based on NRSS standard procedures, developed specifically to provide customer assurance when selecting final vendor of choice. Our evaluations are customisable, focusing on your specific needs and requirements.
NRSS will provide an evaluation report for all vendors assessed, with detailed information on our findings and final recommendations to allow for ease of vendor selection.
Biospecimen Management
We understand that sample integrity is critical to your clinical trial's success. We support the end-to-end lifecycle management of your biological samples, from initial collection at the clinic through to analysis, reporting, and eventual destruction or Biobanking (within IC approval). NRSS will ensure effective execution and operational deployment of clinical biosample strategies to support the success of your trial.
Bioanalysis & Biomarker Strategy & Consultancy
NRSS can work with your team to provide consultancy and project management services appraising bioanalysis and biomarker strategies across therapeutic areas.
When working with you and your team, we can manage the generation and interpretation of relevant biomarker data to assist with key decision making for your programme.
NRSS have experience of transitioning experimental biomarkers from efficacy through to diagnostics at an analyte, study and program level.
